Wellbeing

At Rosanna Golf Links Primary School, we prioritise the wellbeing of every student, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We have implemented the Department of Education’s Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships initiative, equipping students with essential social and emotional skills to build resilience, develop healthy relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Our approach is further supported by School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), which promotes a positive school culture by encouraging appropriate behaviours, providing consistent support, and celebrating success. This framework helps students develop self-regulation, respect, and responsibility, ensuring they have the tools they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

To ensure a comprehensive approach to social and emotional learning, all classes run two dedicated wellbeing sessions per week. These sessions focus on:

  • The Respectful Relationships curriculum

  • Consent education

  • The Resilience Project lessons, which support the development of key social competencies such as empathy, gratitude, and mindfulness.

These structured lessons empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to build positive relationships, manage emotions, and approach challenges with confidence.

At Rosanna Golf Links Primary, we believe that all feelings are valid and welcome. We dedicate time to teaching students how to recognise, understand, and express their emotions in healthy and constructive ways. By helping students develop emotional literacy, we empower them to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and approach challenges with confidence.

Through our school values of respect, kindness, responsibility, and persistence, we nurture a strong sense of belonging and empower students to develop empathy, confidence, and a positive mindset. Our dedicated staff provide holistic student support, social-emotional learning programs, and proactive assistance to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and supported.

We also have a provisionally registered psychologist who works onsite to support the needs of our students. Together with the psychologist, we assess the individual needs of students to ensure appropriate support is provided. While there may be times when a waitlist is in place, we remain committed to working closely with families to prioritise and address student wellbeing needs as effectively as possible.

By fostering strong partnerships with families and the wider community, we create a positive and caring school culture that promotes lifelong wellbeing. At Rosanna Golf Links Primary, we believe that happy, healthy students are best equipped for success in learning and in life.
